My English competence in 2009
http://marina777portfolio.blogspot.com/2008/02/my-first-oral-presentation.html
I choose my first oral presentation in the first of Batxillerat only for one reason: I didn't have my paper and I couldn't look my text, and I think that this oral is the most natural and personal that I made.
- My best written:
http://marina7777.blogspot.com/2009/02/description.html
Well, I try this description because for me it's really sentimental and sincere and when I do this redaction, I enjoyed writing and I was learning a lot of adjectives.
- My best work in Batxillerat, besides of my Project work about Fears of course =), in the English sector was reading the book A kiss before dying in the third term on first Batxillerat, because I learn new vocabulary and was the first difficult book that I had read. This year, I also think that one of my better work was reading the difficult but beautiful book Pride and Prejudice and the book Jane Eyre, for the same arguments, I learnt new vocabulary and I’m proud to read these books about English literature.
In my opinion, read a English books can help you with your vocabulary and also with your grammar, moreover, if you have a CD about your novel, you can improve your pronunciation.
My English 2007-2009

After the Jane’s punishment (càstig) in the “Red Room”, where her uncle died, Mrs. Reed invited Mr. Brocklehurst, who is the school’s financial manager, in her house to meet Jane. Few days ago, Jane was coming to Lowood School. There, Jane was treating like a liar, because her aunt explained to Mr. Brocklehurts that Jane always told lies.In this school, Jane met Helen Burns, who was a pupil and she became really good friends, but few months ago Helen was ill and died.Jane stayed in the Lowood School 10 years, 8 like a pupil and 2 like a teacher. But her life change in the moment who received a letter coming from Rochester home, Thornfield. In this house, Jane worked as a governess (institutriu) for Rochester daughter, Adèle. Mr. Rochester was a traveler man, and he didn’t have time for her daughter. When Jane met Rochester she saw that he was an interesting and mysterious man, and finally she fall in love with him. Apparently, Blanche Ingram, the most beautiful woman in the village, was the future Rochester wife, but later, Rochester discovered that his heart belonged to Jane Eyre. One month later Jane and Rochester celebrated their wedding, but in the middle of the celebration, a lawyer entered in the church and said that Rochester couldn’t marriage with another person because he was married.Rochester explained the truth and showed her wife, Bertha Mason, but she was a Grace Pool patient because she was mad, and for this she stayed shut away in his room in Thornfield. Finally, Bertha Mason had an anxiety attack and set fire to the Thornfield, where Rochester became blind (cec) and she kill herself. Jane was angry with Rochester and she escaped to the Rochester house. Then, she passed terrible days without food and drink until the Rivers family took in her in their home during 1 year. In the end, St. John Rivers discovered that Jane was his cousin and he told her that she will receive her paternal uncle’s fortune. After that, Jane was very happy and she went to Rochester house to search her lover Mr. Rochester. They lived very happy and Rochester recovered his eyesight.

But her strong sense of conscience does not permit her to become his mistress, and she does not return to him until his insane wife is dead and she herself has come into an inheritance.

Writing
So, in my view we need this therapists when we have a strong trouble that a friend or family can't help us with it and we need an specialice, but also I think they're unnecessary with typical problems like familiar problems, couple problems, etc.
I think that is a personal opinion to consider if this psychologists are good or not, because personally I support them with real problems because with their studios they can help these problems, but to other people they can't be good considered because this people can think that the psichologists never help us with their methods. But well, each person has a different opinion about this matter.
Everybody knows that the humans have a lot of necessities and we need to solve this.
Sometimes these necessities are difficult to solve and we need an especialist to help us with this. Nervertheless, if we have a really important trouble like personals disorders we don't need a psychologist, we need a psyquiatrsts, or also we can solve our problems on our own.
In conclution the psychologists don't always have the answer to our psychological necessities, sometimes the psyquiatrics have our answer, or ourselves, we need to search the answer inside us.

Dialogue with one of the last farmers in Castelló
So, in our times I want to carry out a project of catalan farmers to inform the main difference about now and before, and for this I amb going to interview a good farmer who has lived in Castelló all his life.
- Marina: Hi Manel, I know that you're a good farmer and for this reason I prepared a few questions for you about job. Can I start?
- Manel:Yes of course Marina, I'm so happy to answer your questions.
-Marina: Good, the first question is: How long have you been a farmer boy? and Why have you chosen this option?
- Manel: Well, when I started this job I was 10 years old with my father and I chose this option because in my times there wasn't another option, also my family hadn't a lot of money and I did'nt go to the university or something like this, but I'm so happy with my job.
- Marina: Fabulous, and Do you have any children?
- Manel: Yes, five children, 3 boys and 2 girls.
- Marina: Wow! And...There are some of your sons who are farmers like you?
- Manel: Yes, but only one, the eldest son Pere.
- Marina: Why only one?
- Manel: Because when he was born my family did'nt have a lot of money and we couldn't pay his studios, but few years later we had more money and for this we would pay the studios of my other sons.
- Marina: Oh, I'm so sorry. Well, but your eldest son feels happy like you with his job?
- Manel: Yes, he always says to me that he wants to be like me.
- Marina: Well, I've finished my questions, so I've enjoyed so much with you this time, thank you for your attention.
- Manel: You're welcome Marina.
As a conclusion with my little project, I can say it was more common to find farmers 50 or 60 years ago than now because before the children couldn't try to study or work with their parents because a lot of families in the village were poor.
So, In our times, we have a good life status and we have more options to try for our future.

Misha Barton anorexic?
Some Hollywood producers refuse to contract the actress for her thin body, because in their opinion, she can give a bad example to young girls. Moreover she doesn’t have a lot of Hollywood offers because she has some problems with alcohol.Fortunately her name appeared in the new TV version of Melrose Place.

My oral comment
Well, Now I talk about our oral presentation.
When I’m doing this, I feel calmer than other expositions because the great majority was in London and for this there were few people in class. But in spite I’m very nervous, stressed and I have fear like always in my expositions on public.
So, in my first oral presentation last term, I think that it’s better because in this last, in the middle of the oral, Neus and I started to laugh with one slip because we must to do a little representation like TV news. In my opinion, it’s original because not of all do this and also is funny and spontaneous, but the inconvenient is that it isn’t very formal.
So…for this reason, I decide that in the next oral presentation I won’t do a theater representation because like this we’re starting to laugh and it’s difficult to concentrate again… I hope that like this my second oral presentation will be better.

oral presentation, london
Hi guys! Let’s get started. Good morning ladies and gentlemen.
We are Neus and Marina as you know.
In this oral presentation we are going to talk about London.
We have prepared a different kind of exposition.
Why? Because all people, who have gone in London, have had the opportunity to record their oral presentation there.
That’s why we have had this idea. First of all, we will show you TV news, and then, a London documentary.
Slide 2:
Good morning! We’re TV37’ and my name is Neus Pagès. We have a last-minute news item /àitem/ in London. Marina Julià is there and she will tell us what is happening.
Marina, are you here?
Slide 3:
(…)
Well, we have an error /èra/ connection.
Oh, do we have an error?
Marina?
(…)
Let’s try again
Neus?
Now! Marina, can you tell us the Harrods’ news?
Slide 4:
Harrods is a department store located on London. It was established in 1834 and as you know, you can find expensive and cheap products there. Nowadays, there is a strong crisis economic what impact on stores. We can see an example in Harrods.
Last year, one of the most expensive dress, that you can find in Harrods, cost 3.000 pounds. This year, it costs 1.500 pounds, it’s incredible but a lot of Harrods’ products go down their valor.
In the other hand, the cheap products also go down their cost in Harrods, but in the exchange with other countries, the Harrods companies lose profit (benefici) because the pound is more expensive than euro and dollar, and the foreign companies prefer to buy the cheap products make outside the United Kingdom.
Nothing more to say.
Marina Julià, TV37’, London.
Slide 5:
Now, we’re going to tell you something about London:
London is the capital of the United Kingdom. It has a recorded history that goes back over 2,000 years. During this time, it has grown to become one of the most significant cultural capitals of the world. A lot of schools go there to visit it.
London is so big; London is formed by a city and 32 districts. Nowadays, the city keeps the tradition of before. There you can see the big red bus, the black taxis...
It’s so well-known, for that reason, it has a lot of museums like: Madame Tussauds, Nation Gallery...
London has a metro, of course. The metro in London is also known as “the tube”. How do you spell tube? It’s “T-u-b-e”
We have focus in 2 important cultural places. The first is Westminster Abbey and , the second is Buckingham Palace.
Slide 6:
In my case, I’m going to explain you an important Gothic church in Westminster. First I want to describe a little bit this fabulous construction. In the middle of the two towers you can see a triangular construction typical of gothic. The meaning in Catalan is “gablet”. Also typical of gothic are the pinnacles, you can see in top of the towers. Finally the big windows predominate in all of the balding and for that the light in.
Also we know that English and British monarchs have been crowned in the Abbey since the coronations in 1066.
Nowadays is an important architecture to visit in London.
Slide 7:
First of all, Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell (CAMPANA) of the clock that you can see in the tower of Wedminster. The Tower is gothic like Wedminster Abbey, It measures 96, 3 miters.
It was created by Charles Barry time ago. It celebrates its 150th birthday this year. Nowadays, it’s an important tourist attraction.
Moreover, the clock has become a symbol of the United Kingdom and London. Every year, it’s in the Big Ben where the English people celebrated the New Year Eve.
Slide 8:
The last point in our documental is that. I’m going to tell you some interesting things about Buckingham Palace. It is the official London residence of the British monarch, Elisabeth II! It’s located in the City of Westminster, known as "The Queen's House.
Moreover is the major tourist attraction. Its history started in 1703. It was built for the Duke of Buckingham!
What’s more? The palace contains 77,000 square metres of floorspace. The principal rooms of the palace are contained on the piano nobile. The piano nobile is the principal floor where contains the most important reception and bedrooms of the house.
Slide 9:
Nothing more to say. We hope you like our oral presentation.
If there are any questions we’ll be happy to answer them; thank you for your attention.
